Husbands, love your wives, as CHRIST LOVED THE CHURCH and gave himself up for HER, that he might sanctify HER, having cleansed HER by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the CHURCH to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that SHE might be holy and without blemish. (Eph 5:25-27, ESV)

Christ gave His life for the church to sanctify her, His bride. So that He might present the CHURCH to Himself, not the world. So that the church might be holy…..NOT THE WORLD.

Christ is the good shepherd and he lay down His life for the sheep, His own, not the world.

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10:11, ESV)

Jesus Christ pray for the church not for the world.

I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. (John 17:9-10, ESV)

The church are those of faith in Christ who the Father called to Jesus.

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. (John 6:44, ESV)

The Father has caused them to be born again by the Holy Spirit. They are not born again by their own choice or will. They are born from God. The Holy Spirit indwelt the church and every believer that God draw to Jesus and gave to Him to save.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (1Pet 1:3, ESV)

He will keep them/Church until the day He return and raise them up on the last day.

who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1Pet 1:5, ESV)

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. (John 10:28, ESV)

They belonged to God before the time and were called to faith in Christ.

“I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. (John 17:6, ESV)
