The Sinful Nature

The sinful nature expresses itself in various ways. It’s chief end is hate towards God, the creator of mankind. It is rebellion against the Holiness of God. Hatred for the love of God shown in Christ.

Sometimes it expresses itself in religion and self induced morality. Pharisaical self righteous living that pride itself in its own goodness and effort. It will rebel against God’s will and promote free will. It want’s to free itself from God’s sovereign choice and makes it’s own choice, because self preservation is its main cause.
Other times it express itself in the most crude and vulgar ways. It broke all rules of decent behavior and is self destructive. It even destroys those around it by words and deeds. It murders, rape and abort babies.
It rebel against what God has created man and woman for. To have a loving relationship between man and woman. It wants to destroy parenthood and its responsibilities. It try to change and confuse the role of different sexes.
But thank be to God who send His Son in the likeness of sinful man to kill the sinful nature. To break its power and destroy its reign. To take the punishment for the deeds committed through the sinful nature upon Himself. To break the reign of satan, the snake of old’s hold on man through the power of the sinful nature. So that those who are in Christ can be made Holy by the Spirit of God and experience the love of the Father. That they can be restored and share in the divine nature of His Son Jesus Christ. Dignity can be restored and man is now free from the rebellion of his own sinful nature to worship His creator and God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit. (Eph 2:1-10 ESV) And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience- among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ-by grace you have been saved- and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
